A Tribute to the Karnigs

The Monday after the gala, there was this buzz.

“Beautiful and elegant.”

“It was a wonderful evening.”

“Impressive.”

The May 12 gala for Albert and Marilyn Karnig was the celebration of the first couple’s 15 years at Cal State San Bernardino. More than 700 attended the event, which raised some $300,000 for student scholarships. But ever the champion of the studious, Albert Karnig issued one last big challenge: Let’s make it $400,000, he said.
